Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed over 70,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth in government departments and organizations under the Rozgar Mela through video conferencing. During this program, he took a dig at the Congress and also accused the party of phone banking scam.

Addressing the people, he said that during the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, when the country is moving towards development, it is a matter of pride to contribute as a government employee. The people of India have taken a pledge to make the country developed. The coming 25 years are important for India.

Establishment of a big bank by merging small banks

PM Modi said that the phone banking scam has broken the backbone of the banking sector. He told that in the year 2014, we started reviving the banking sector. We strengthened the management of the country’s public sector banks. Small banks were merged into one big bank. The government implemented the Bankruptcy Code, so that if any bank closes in the future, they face less loss.

Congress accused of phone banking scam

Addressing the job fair through video conferencing, PM Modi said that at present India’s banking sector is considered to be the strongest in the world. This situation was not there till nine years ago. Targeting the Congress, he said that in the previous government there was huge devastation in the banking sector. He said that today we are able to do digital transactions, but till nine years back mobile banking was not there for 140 crore population.

Accusing the Congress, PM Modi said that people who were close to the previous government were given loans worth thousands of crores from banks on a phone call, which have not been repaid till date. This phone banking scam was one of the biggest scams ever in the previous government.

Kiren Rijiju praised PM Modi

Appreciating PM Modi, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the job fair is part of PM Modi’s promise to create 10 lakh government jobs and appoint qualified people to relevant posts. We consider it not just a job but a service to the nation.
