Murari had saved Rs 11 crore in allotting contracts for cleaning and sanitisation work at railway property and premises like DMR office, RPF academy, railway stations and others.
Instead of demanding a lot of manpower for the sanitation work, the officer had changed the contract for the result. So, after the tender for sanitation work, the contract which was earlier awarded for Rs.80 lakh, was allotted for only Rs.20 lakh in 2022-23.
“The prime minister often says that the result is more important than the outlay – instead of determining whether we need so many people, so many sweepers, so many toilet attendants, supervisors – Murari focused on the result and good SLA ( service level agreement), what is expected from the service provider, how it will determine whether the service is complete – and on the basis of this it has managed to save 60 per cent on the contracts awarded by it,” Union Minister he said.
On Monday, Murari was conferred with the GeM (Government e-Marketplace) award for the Star Buyers category. He is the only Central Government official to be honored for the e-marketplace.
