Thiruvananthapuram: General Education Minister V Shivankutty announced Higher Secondary Exam Result on Thursday; The state recorded a pass percentage of 82.95, which is marginally lower than the pass percentage of 83.87 in 2022.
Out of 3,76,135 regular students who took the exam in March 2023, 3,12,005 became eligible for higher education. The last date for submission of applications for revaluation, photocopy and scrutiny of answer sheets is May 31. SAY/Improvement exam will be conducted from 21st June.
The results were calculated taking into account the marks obtained in the first and second year of Plus Two course. Double valuation system was adopted for Physics, Chemistry and Maths. The data shows that out of 1,94,511 girls who took the exam, 1,73,731 (89.31%) are eligible for higher education, while 1,38,274 out of 1,81,624 boys (76.13%) are eligible for higher education.
Stream-wise count showed that 87.31% candidates cleared the Science course, while the pass percentage in Humanities and Commerce streams was 71.93 and 82.75, respectively. The pass percentage of students in SC, ST and OEC categories was 60.87, 57.17 and 73.57 respectively.
Sector-wise results, aided sector topped with 86.31% (1,59,530 out of 1,84,844 candidates qualified for higher studies) followed by unaided sector with 82.7% (22,355 out of 27,031 candidates qualified for higher studies) EHS in the government sector is 79.19% (1,29,905 out of 1,64,043 candidates qualified for higher studies). The special schools registered a pass percentage of 99.31 with 294 out of a total of 296 candidates completing the course.
33,815 students have secured A+ grade in all subjects. Of these, 26,001 are girls and 7,814 are boys; 24,849 students from Science stream, 3,172 students from Humanities stream and 5,794 students from Commerce stream scored A+ in all subjects. While 71 students have secured full score of 1200/1200. 41,511 students got A grade or above. Eligibility for higher studies is ‘D+’ grade or above for all subjects with 30% score in theory alone and 30% marks in aggregate in theory, practical assessment and continuous assessment.
recorded the highest pass percentage in Ernakulam (87.55) and lowest Pathanamthitta (76.59). A huge number of students appeared in the St. Mary’s HSS Pattom exam. 838 candidates appeared in the exam from this school and it secured a pass percentage of 85.32%. Malappuram topped the list of all A+ holders with a total of 4,897 candidates securing the feat.
