PM fires PFI salvo at Gehlot govt, says Cong playing appeasement politics | Jaipur News – Times of India

JAIPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi came down heavily Tuesday on Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government for allowing a rally of the banned PFI in Kota last year as part of its “appeasement politics”.
“PFI was banned but in Kota, they held a rally under police protection while Congress slept,” Modi alleged at a rally in Kota ahead of the November 25 assembly polls, one of his three in the day capped with a road show in Jaipur.
Modi was referring to a PFI march in Kota in February 2022. The Centre outlawed the group only in September 2022.
The PM claimed Hanuman Jayanti and Ram Navami processions were stopped in Rajasthan, and curfews imposed, even as PFI held its rally “with pride” and police protection. “The state will suffer as long as Congress remains here,” Modi said.
In an apparent dig at Gehlot, Modi declared that “whichever kind of magic he does, like black magic, it is no longer going to work against the power of the magic of the people”. “That’s why on December 3, Congress will vanish (Chhumantar) in front of everyone,” Modi said. Gehlot comes from a family of magicians.
Next, Modi seized on a viral video in which state minister Shanti Dhariwal is purportedly seen offering money to a lady in Kota. “The entire nation has been watching. I’d like to publicly applaud the mother or sister not only for accepting the bribe but also for ignoring the tainted minister and his entourage,” Modi said.
The PM reiterated the charges of appeasement and bias against Hindu festivals at his other rallies of the day in the state, alongside rising crimes against women, to slam the Gehlot government.
On the long-pending demand for an airport in Kota, he said, “In the past 10 years, we have doubled the number of airports. I also want an airport here. Our Birlaji (Lok Sabha Speaker) used to demand an airport, but the Congress government didn’t proceed with it. Now, the government will change on December 3, and Kota’s dream of an airport will come true,” he said.
In Karauli, he questioned the Congress government on why they failed to stop ‘attacks’ on Lord Parshuram, and prevented Dussehra, Ram Navami, Hanuman Jayanti, and Hindu New Year processions.
Referring to the riots during the Hindu New Year in 2022 in Karauli, he asked, “Can you forget it, mothers and sisters? Those who are sitting far away may not notice. Many people were hurt in the stone-pelting. Many went out of business.”
“Such attacks are continuing as the rioters are having a feast with CM Ashok Gehlot. Do you think such a government can safeguard you?” he asked.
Calling the Congress anti-women, he asked, “Do you think that any sister would lodge false cases of rape, harassment, and murder as Gehlot stated? This is a serious allegation by him. He has struck at your honour and self-respect. They don’t have the right to stay in power, even for a minute.”
