Elephant Whispers won the prestigious Oscar Award at the 95th Academy Awards. After the big victory, every citizen of the country is feeling proud. The short documentary was based on a real-life couple, Bowman and Bailey, who adopted a baby elephant. It was produced by Guneet Monga and starring Kartiki Gonsalves. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the lead pair of the documentary in Tamil Nadu.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Theppakadu Elephant Camp and met The Elephant Whispers duo. Photos and videos of this event are being shared widely. In the pictures, the PM can be seen lovingly caressing the elephants at the reserve along with Boman and Bailey. The Prime Minister shared pictures from his visit on Twitter and wrote, “What a pleasure meeting the wonderful Boman and Bailey, along with Bomi and Raghu (sic).”
He shared another set of pictures and wrote, “With the majestic elephants at Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.”
The PM also participated in the feeding session with the elephants.
Earlier, Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga met PM Modi. He congratulated the team for the victory.
After meeting with the team of The Elephant Whispers, PM Modi had tweeted, “The cinematic brilliance and success of The Elephant Whisperers has attracted attention and appreciation from across the world. Today I had the opportunity to meet the wonderful team associated with it. India is very proud. @guneetm @EarthSpectrum.
President Draupadi Murmu had also met the director-producer duo and congratulated them on their big win. Rashtrapati Bhavan tweeted, “President Draupadi Murmu met the makers of the Oscar-winning documentary The Elephant Whispers, Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga. He congratulated them on winning the award and hailed India’s tradition of conservation and living in harmony with nature.” Kudos to him for showing up.”
