PM to inaugurate Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam on implementation of NEP today | Nagpur News – Times of India

Nagpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the three-day program Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam The seminar is being organized by the Union Ministry of Education (MoE) in association with University Grants Commission (UGC) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) on 7th July in Varanasi.
The symposium will bring together over 300 Vice Chancellors and Directors, academicians, policy makers, as well as industry representatives from public and private universities, to deliberate on the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP).
Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will also attend.
The summit will provide a platform to leading Indian Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to discuss, deliberate and share insights on strategies, success stories and best practices in implementing NEP.
The Ministry, along with the UGC and AICTE, has brought in several policy initiatives such as Academic Bank of Credit, Multiple Entry Exit, Multi Disciplinarity and Flexibility in Higher Education. These initiatives are aimed at promoting online and open distance learning, revising the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) to make it more compliant with global standards, promoting multilingual and Indian knowledge systems.
Many universities have already boarded the reform train, but there are still many that have yet to adapt and adapt to the changes.
The Prime Minister had last month addressed a seminar of Chief Secretaries in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, where the states shared their insights on the implementation of the NEP. Varanasi Shiksha Samagam is the next in the series of consultations in this regard.
In several sessions spanning three days from 7-9 July, topics like ‘Multidisciplinary and Holistic Education’, ‘Skill Development and Employment’, ‘Indian Knowledge System’, ‘Internationalization of Education’, ‘Digital Empowerment’ will be discussed. and Online Education’, ‘Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship’, ‘Quality, Ranking and Recognition’, ‘Equal and Inclusive Education’, ‘Capacity Building of Teachers for Quality Education’.
The summit is expected to provide a forum for thought-provoking discussions that will clarify the roadmap and implementation strategies, promote knowledge exchange and build networks through interdisciplinary deliberations and the challenges faced by educational institutions. Discuss challenges and articulate solutions.
The highlight of the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam will be the adoption of the Varanasi Declaration on Higher Education which will reflect India’s expanded vision and a renewed commitment to helping the higher education system achieve its goals.
