Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started a two-day visit to Karnataka from Monday. PM also tweeted before the visit. He said that in these two days, several rail and road projects worth over Rs 27,000 crore will be inaugurated and foundation stones will be laid.

Center for Brain Research inaugurated
According to the PMO, the Prime Minister reached the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru at around 12:30 pm on Monday, where he inaugurated the Center for Brain Research (CBR). PM will lay the foundation stone of 832-bed Bagchi-Parthasarathy Multispecialty Hospital.

A step towards increasing connectivity
The PM will lay the foundation stone for the Bengaluru Sub-Urban Rail Project (BSRP), which will connect the city of Bengaluru with its suburbs and satellite townships. This will cost more than ₹ 15,700 crore. The PM will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Bengaluru Cantt and Yesvantpur Junction railway stations. About ₹ 500 crore and ₹ 375 crore will be spent to develop these.

Dr. BR Ambedkar’s statue unveiled
In the afternoon PM will visit Dr. BR Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) present in Bengaluru, where he will inaugurate the new campus of BASE University and unveil the statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar. He will also dedicate to the nation 150 ‘Technology Hubs’ which have been developed by transforming Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Karnataka.

At around 2:45 pm, PM Modi will reach Kommaghatta in Bengaluru, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several rail and road infrastructure projects worth over Rs 27,000 crore.

Around 5:30 pm, the PM will attend a public function at the Maharaja College Ground in Mysore, where he will lay the foundation stone for the coaching terminal at Naganahalli railway station, which will be developed at a cost of over Rs 480 crore.

India’s first AC railway station
During the programme, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation Sir M Visvesvaraya – India’s first AC railway station at Baiyappanahalli. It has been developed on the lines of a modern airport. He will visit Sri Suttoor Math in Mysore at around 7 pm and visit Sri Chamundeshwari temple at around 7:45 pm.

On June 21, on the occasion of the 8th International Day of Yoga, the Prime Minister will perform yoga with thousands of people at the Mysore Palace grounds in Mysore at 6:30 am. The event will be telecast live on DD India. The theme of this year’s Yoga Day is ‘Yoga for Humanity’.
