However, the STF and the district administration are constantly monitoring such profiles.”

Action on 5 accounts on Instagram-Facebook in 25 days
After the Umesh Pal murder case, when the shooters could not be traced for several days, the police started investigating the accounts of Atiq’s sons (Asad and Ali) created on different social media platforms, in which a big disclosure was made.

It was learned that several Facebook friends of Asad and Ali had posted posts in support of Ateeq regarding the February 24 shootout. After this Prayagraj Police and SIT have taken action on such profiles active on many social media platforms including Instagram.

Prayagraj Cyber ​​Crime Cell officer Rahul Kumar says“Cyber ​​Cell is constantly monitoring social media accounts. In the last 25 days, we have also reported 4 to 5 such accounts on Instagram and Facebook, on which provocative posts were posted regarding the murder of mafia. Most of them Ali- Assad’s friends, who knew Atiq and were his supporters.”

“However, after the Atiq-Ashraf murder and Asad’s encounter, there has been a decrease in such accounts. UP Police is constantly taking action on any wrong or inflammatory posts.”
