Pollution Control Board to host Sustainability Summit | Goa News – Times of India

Panaji: In a step towards facilitating the transition to a carbon-neutral future, the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) will organize the first International Environment and Sustainability Summit Goa (IESSG).
Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav The summit is likely to be inaugurated on February 2-4 at the Syama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Bambolim.
Organizing the summit in partnership with GSPCB Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) is the knowledge partner while Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is the network partner of the event.
“The theme of the summit is ‘Building a sustainable future’. Building a sustainable future requires strong commitments to adopt solutions that will facilitate the transition to a carbon-neutral future, thereby promoting circularity and inclusiveness.” The three-day event will bring together ideas and leadership that will inspire action to accelerate growth for a sustainable future. It will provide innovative ideas for businesses, governments and institutions to address risks and opportunities in an integrated manner. Will build upon the discussion on visions that will lay the foundation for a sustainable tomorrow,” GSPCB Chairman Mahesh Patil Told.
The summit will be represented by diverse stakeholders from government, industry and institutions. The participants of the events will include representation from industries, ministries, government departments, academia, financial institutions, civil society, consultants, bilateral/multilateral agencies, research scholars, academic institutions etc.
Patil said that Envirotech Asia Exhibition The summit is also being held parallel. The objective of the exhibition is to showcase and showcase innovation and latest technology solutions to the industry participants.
