NSG and NIA gathered information
Experts from various agencies, including the National Security Guard (NSG) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA), have visited the site of the deadly attack in the last two days and gathered clear details about the attack.

However, the area where the attack took place has long been considered terrorism-free. The Bhata Dhurian forest area was an infiltration route for terrorists into India. Terrorists have been coming here by crossing the Line of Control (LoC). This area is full of dense forest and natural caves.

So far more than 12 people in custody
Officials said that more than 12 people have been detained for questioning in connection with the Poonch attack, but no arrests have been made so far. He said the security forces are using drones and sniffer dogs to scan the dense forest, but have not been successful so far.

He said it is believed that the terrorists may have managed to create safe havens in the dense forest to escape the security net or may have infiltrated into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Sources said that at present three to four terrorist groups are active in Rajouri and Poonch region. The banned terror group People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), a proxy wing of Jaish-e-Mohammed, has claimed responsibility for the attack. The martyrs have been identified as Lance Naik Debasish Baswal, Lance Naik Kulwant Singh, Sepoy Harkishan Singh, Sepoy Sewak Singh and Havildar Mandeep Singh. Of these, Lance Naik Debasish Baswal is a resident of Odisha, the other four martyrs are residents of Punjab.
