In Maharashtra, a portion of foot overbridge has collapsed at Ballarshah railway station in Chandrapur district. The height of the bridge was 60 feet and people were passing through it at the time of the accident. As soon as part of the bridge broke, people fell on the railway tracks from a height of 60 feet. 20 people are said to be injured in the accident. The condition of eight of them is serious. Relief and rescue operations are on and efforts are being made to rescue the trapped people.
