Prayagraj: The Forest Department But Prayagraj Launched a campaign to promote eco-tourism in Prayagraj region and create awareness about conservation of wildlife and wetlands. The campaign launched on February 2 to mark the World Wetlands Day is being taken up by the forest officials to make people aware of the local wildlife animals, birds and reptiles. Although the district already has a blackbuck sanctuary at Chand Khamaria in Meja and a turtle sanctuary in the wetlands of The River GangesYet a large number of people are still not aware about the importance of wildlife and their conservation. “Prayagraj has rich biodiversity which is supported by wetlands and forest ranges. However, people are still not aware of its importance.
