Prime Minister Modi chaired the meeting of the NITI Aayog Governing Council. India News – Times of India

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the eighth meeting of the Governing Council on Saturday NITI Aayog At the New Convention Center at Pragati Maidan.
Prominent members who attended the meeting included Union ministers Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal and several chief ministers.
The council, the apex body of NITI Aayog, comprises all chief ministers, lieutenant governors of union territories and several Union ministers. the prime minister is President Policy commission.
However, some chief ministers of the opposition like Nitish Kumar, Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal were not present in the meeting.
Normally, the full council meets every year and last year, it was held on August 7 under the chairmanship of Modi. The council meeting was not convened in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
