This was Ambukumar’s first visit to Dharwad after being appointed as the secretary in-charge of the district. Stating that it is important to maintain greenery, he said, “Plantation should be done in government office complexes, school premises, hostels, parks and other places. It is possible to adopt a healthy lifestyle by creating a mini ecosystem.”
The Secretary directed the officers to complete the works of Jal Jeevan Mission at the earliest and provide clean drinking water to the people. Stating that 88% farmers have completed the KYC process in Kisan Samman Yojana, he asked the officers of Agriculture and Horticulture departments to ensure that the remaining 12% also complete the KYC formalities.
Expressing his concern on the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR), Ambukumar said, “It should be taken care that MMR is brought down drastically and every case of Maternal Mortality Rate should be brought to the notice of the Deputy Commission and Zila Parishad CEO. The officer deputed by the DC/CEO should meet the family of the deceased and ascertain the cause of death.
