Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra’s Chamkila has finally been released on the OTT platform. They have been receiving positive responses for their performance in the film. Priyanka Chopra also took to her social handle and heaped praises on the team. She called it good.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Priyanka shared the poster and wrote, “Congratulations Imtiaz sir, Diljit, Tisha and the team. Looks so good (heart-eye emoji)”. News18 gave the film 3.5/5 stars. Our review read, “Diljit delivers a stupendous act as the protagonist. The character of Amar Singh Chamkila is tailor-made for him and he pours his heart out into it. His hard work is palpable and yet his performance is effortless. Watching him become Chamkila and sing his songs will fill your heart up with unadulterated joy. Even in some heavy-weight scenes, he brings a rare restraint to the fore and renders a whole new layer of poise. It, inarguably, is his career-best performance. And somewhere in the middle, you will see him becoming one with Chamkila and very soon, you won’t be able to separate these forces that forever changed the music industry of Punjab.”

Previously, in an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Imtiaz talked about getting Diljit and Parineeti on board when he explained why it was important for him to cast actors who are also singers.

“It was mandatory for me to cast actors who are singers as well. It was important for them to sing live. This film wouldn’t have been possible without them. It’s not like Diljit didn’t train a lot like Parineeti did but he does live singing and is used to it. They both recorded the songs after singing them live. The reason behind this is that I’ve never had singers singing live during a shot. I thought that in case, the live singing doesn’t work out, we can always use the recorded version and use it as playback like we usually do,” he said.
