Property worth Rs 113 crore belonging to jailed don turned politician Vijay Mishra attached | Lucknow News – Times of India

LUCKNOW: Continuing its action against mafias, UP police on Wednesday attached properties belonging to jailed don turned politician Vijay Mishra to a tune of Rs 113 crore. The properties attached were in Delhi and Prayagraj.
Police said that Mishra utilized ill-gotten gains to acquire prime real estate in prominent locations. Notably, the second floor of the Copia Building in Sarita Vihar, New Delhi, valued at approximately Rs 70 crore, was purchased in the names of his wife, daughter, and son-in-law.Additionally, Mishra allegedly invested in furnishing the property with modern amenities, further consolidating his illicit wealth.
Further investigations revealed that Mishra also secured property in the form of a modern facility on the first floor of Anand Lok, New Delhi, estimated to be worth Rs 8 crore, under his son Vishnu Mishra’s name. Both these properties were attached.
A three-storey building with modern amenities, valued at approximately Rs 35 crore and under construction in Prayagraj district in the name of Mishra’s son-in-law, Harishankar Mishra. The property, operated under the guise of Saket Hospital, was allegedly intended to launder illegal funds. This was also attached.
DGP, Prashant Kumar, said that police are consistently acting against listed criminals and gangsters.
SP Bhadohi, Meenakshi Katyayan, said that all the property was attached under the Gangsters Act and the money used was acquired through criminal deeds. “We have till now attached properties worth Rs 243 crore belonging to Vijay Mishra,” she said.
Vijay Mishra, former MLA who is lodged in Agra jail, has 83 criminal cases including of murder, loot, kidnapping, rape, fraud, extortion, property grabbing and others in his account. Manish Mishra also has 24 cases, including of loot, kidnapping, property grabbing, extortion, fraud and others, against him. He had lost in 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections but Vijay Mishra had emerged victorious from Gyanpur assembly constituency four times between 2002 and 2017 by shifting his loyalty to different political parties.
