Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and TDP supremo Nara Chandrababu Naidu believes that public policy is the best weapon to bring revolutionary change in the society and India will be on top by 2047 with the best policies and vision.

Shri Naidu was the chief guest at the graduation ceremony of Kautilya School of Public Policy (KSPP) organized at GITAM campus, Rudraram on Saturday.

Shri Naidu felt that the public policies initiated as part of the reforms have already brought about a paradigm shift in the society and the country will certainly stand on top of the world by 2047 with the adoption of the best policies. He firmly believed that today’s youth can do wonders if given opportunities.

“Though I have earlier attended several convocations of various educational institutions, today’s event in which I am addressing those who have completed their Masters in Public Policy, gives me great satisfaction. Days passed, but after implementing the reforms, the country started moving towards rapid development. As the Chief Minister of the United States, I achieved great results by introducing reforms. I may lose elections sometimes, but what I did Policies have been adopted, their results will always be there and I have that satisfaction,” said the former chief minister.

Stating that people used to mock him when he spoke of Vision-2020, Shri Naidu said: “Thinking of a bright future, I tolerated the criticism. Today’s Hyderabad is the best proof of my vision of 25 years ago. My dream has come true today and the result is in front of you all. In the next 25 years, the country will celebrate the centenary of independence and there is a need to prepare a vision for 2047 to achieve good results.

Stating that the introduction of the Public-Private Partnership (PPS) system, which is part of these reforms, has yielded tremendous results, Shri Naidu said that Hitech City in Hyderabad is the first project of this PP system in the country. He said that arrangements have been made on such a large scale in Hyderabad without spending even a single rupee from the exchequer. He has also proposed a ‘100 year vision document’ for India from the programme.

Chancellor Virendra Singh Chauhan, President M Sribharat and others participated in the programme.
