Ludhiana: Khanna Police Claiming to have busted an inter-state arms supply racket, the ED arrested five of its members and recovered five arms and ten magazines from their possession. The accused were identified as Suresh Kumar (28), driver from Sikar district of Rajasthan, Gautam Sharma Goru (26) of Islamganj, Jalandhar, laborer Rajinder Meena (22), driver Sardar Gujjar (22) from Bhilwara, Rajasthan. from Jaipur and Takdeer Singh (34) from Khargaon in Madhya Pradesh.
Khanna SSP Amneet Kondal said five .32 bore guns, 10 magazines and a vehicle were recovered from the accused.
Police officials said that acting on the information, a car with Rajasthan number plate was stopped during barricading on the service road near the focal point in Khanna. He said that on interrogation, the suspects identified themselves as Suresh Kumar, Gautam Sharma and Rajinder Meena and Sardar Gujjar.
The SSP said that during checking, a magazine of 0.32 bore pistol was recovered from Suresh, a country-made pistol of 0.32 bore magazine from Gautam Sharma and a sharp weapon was recovered from Sardar Gujjar. He informed that the goods snatched from their possession have been recovered.
Police said that after this the accused in the case were arrested and further investigation was done. It said that during investigation it was revealed that the accused used to bring arms and ammunition from Madhya Pradesh.
Police said that it was found that they had brought these weapons from one Takdeer Singh. He said that in the case in which Takdeer Singh was named and on the basis of the lead provided by the accused Gautam, Takdeer was arrested from Singnoor in district Khargone on July 5 and four .32 bore pistols and eight magazines were recovered from his possession.
