Chandigarh: The Central Government has rejected Punjab’s tableau for the 74th Republic Day parade in Delhi. Since 2017, the state has lost the chance to showcase its culture, tradition and contribution to the freedom struggle.
The state government had presented three tableau ideas to the central government on the theme of ‘India at 75: Freedom Struggle’ and Punjab’s contribution to the country. The 23 sanctioned tableaux of the parade, including 17 from states and union territories, and six tableaux from central ministries and departments, will march on Delhi’s duty path on January 26.
The Defense Ministry’s guidelines required states, union territories and central ministries to send three proposals each, including ‘Reflections on 75: Achievements, Actions and Resolutions’ and ‘Nari Shakti’ and ‘2023: International Year of Millets’ among others There were two subjects. ‘India at 75’.
