Mangaluru: Deputy commissioner Ravi Kumar MR Said that the district administration has so far distributed 12D forms to 84 percent of 80+ Public Works Department Voter. The DC told reporters here on Wednesday that the distribution of forms would be completed within three days.
With the Election Commission allowing postal ballots for people above 80 years of age and persons with disabilities, officials are reaching out to them with Form 12D to help them vote from home. There are a total of 60,934 voters above the age of 80 years and PWD voters in the district. There are 38,294 voters above the age of 80 years, 8,102 voters above the age of 90 years and 531 voters of centenarians. It has 14,007 PWD voters.
As of April 12, the district has a total of 17,68,031 voters, including 9,03,068 women voters and 78 transgender voters. There are a total of 37,292 youth voters in the district and Bantwal has the highest number of youth voters at 5,266 in the age group of 18-19.
The DC said that the Election Photo Identity Cards for newly enrolled voters would be printed from April 20 and would be sent through speed post from April 21. Already 82,503 EPICs have been generated in one month. Undelivered Speed ​​Post will be collected by Returning Officer and delivered to voters through BLO
Meanwhile, as per the data released, Rs 10.53 lakh cash was seized by flying squad teams, Rs 1.57 crore by static surveillance teams and Rs 1.38 lakh cash by the police between March 29 and April 11. Rs 5 lakh seized by SST has been released after verification, while Rs 1.38 lakh has been released by police after verification.
The rest of the seized cash is deposited in the treasury. A total of 1138.835 liters of liquor worth Rs 4.41 lakh, narcotic drugs/psychotropic substances worth Rs 8.29 lakh and promotional material worth Rs 19.25 lakh were also seized.
