We did not fight this battle with hatred and wrong words. We fought this battle with love. Karnataka has shown that this country loves love.
Rahul said that the market of hatred has closed in Karnataka, the shops of love are open. This is everyone’s victory. First of all it is the victory of the people of Karnataka. We had made 5 promises to the people of Karnataka during the elections. We will fulfill these promises in the first cabinet meeting.
Congress leader Priyanka visited the temple in Shimla and JDS leader Kumaraswamy in Bengaluru during the counting of votes on Saturday.
Rahul did 18 rallies and two roadshows in Karnataka.
The role of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is important in this victory, but Rahul Gandhi also has a big hand. During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he stayed in Karnataka for maximum 21 days, walking more than 500 kms. Met people, listened to their problems and laid the foundation for this victory.
For the election too, Rahul did 18 rallies and two roadshows. Apart from them, Mallikarjun Kharge did 35 rallies and 1 roadshow, Priyanka Gandhi did 14 rallies and 11 roadshows and Sonia Gandhi did 1 rally in Hubli.
First rally held in Belagavi, last in Bengaluru
Rahul Gandhi was very active in campaigning for the Karnataka elections. He started campaigning from Belagavi on 19 March. Here he said – Karnataka government is the most corrupt government in the country, if you want to get anything done, you have to pay 40% commission. This country does not belong to any one, it does not belong to Adani. The country belongs to the poor and the farmers.
In the very first rally, Rahul made an election promise that he would increase the SC reservation in the state from 15 to 17%. ST reservation will be increased from 3 to 7% and every graduate will be given 3 thousand rupees every month for three years. These promises proved to be important in helping the Congress win.
Rahul did the last rally for the election on 7 May in Bengaluru. While Rahul addressed gatherings at Anekal and Pulkeshi Nagar, Priyanka first held a rally at Moodbidri and then took out roadshows at Mahadev Pura and Bangalore South. BJP accepts defeat in Karnataka
BJP has accepted defeat in Karnataka. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that after the full results are out, we will review and make a strong comeback in the Lok Sabha elections. In the trends revealed so far, Congress is leading in 129, BJP in 63, JDS in 22 and other 4 seats. That is, Congress seems to be getting 16 seats more than the majority mark of 113.
