However, a video of his performance from the event has surfaced online which has left many including Rahul Vaidya shocked and disappointed. In the video, Dhillon was seen breaking a guitar on stage. Reacting to the clip, Rahul Vaidya called it “unfortunate” and urged Dhillon not to “forget his roots”.

“Unfortunate behaviour! In our culture we are taught to worship stage and musical instruments.. and this Punjabi artist who hails from Punjab is copying this old western style of breaking guitars on stage! Sad. AP don’t forget your roots brother!” Rahul commented on Viral Bhayani’s video of AP Dhillon Coachella’s performance.

Besides Rahul Vaidya, social media personality Meenu Panchal also reacted to AP Dhillon’s act of breaking a guitar and wrote, “I feel it’s a disrespect! I don’t care about the logic behind this but “rozi roti ki izzat karna” can never go out of fashion.”

While AP Dhillon is among the participants, Coachella 2024’s headliners are Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, Tyler, the Creator and No Doubt. Others listed to perform at the festival include Peso Pluma, Blur, J Balvin, Ice Spice, Sublime, Lil Uzi Vert, Grimes, Victoria Monet, Jon Batiste, Bleachers, Justice, Deftones and Lil Yachty.
