Raj Proposes A Transfer Policy Modelled On Centre’s Practices | Jaipur News – Times of India

Jaipur: Taking a cue from the Centre, Rajasthan govt plans to institute a similar transfer policy for state govt employees and officers.
For this, the govt has issued a uniform draft of a standard operating procedure (SOP) to all departments. The head of each department (HoD) will engage with officers to incorporate their suggestions into the SOP.
Under the proposed SOP issued by the department of administrative reforms, no employee will be transferred before completing three years of service.Additionally, every employee must serve in a rural area for a minimum of two years.
An official stated that according to the proposal, online applications will be solicited before transferring employees. In these applications, employees or officers can apply for transfer to vacant positions of their choice. “A team from the relevant department will provide counselling to these employees. Priority will be given to disabled individuals, widows, single women, ex-servicemen, exceptional athletes, those who have spouses with incurable diseases, dependents of martyrs, and employees working in remote or hazardous areas for the prescribed period,” the official said.
The SOP of the department will not apply to Raj Bhavan, Assembly secretariat, and State Election Commission, but will be enforced in all other departments that heve fewer than 2,000 employees.
Departments with more than 2,000 employees will have to develop a policy incorporating their suggestions and submit it to the administrative reforms department. These rules will also extend to boards, corporations, undertakings, and autonomous institutions.
