As the theatrical release of Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Jailer draws closer, Thalaivaa fans are eagerly waiting for new updates about the film. The film’s official theatrical date was announced through a promo released by Sun Pictures on Twitter in May, revealing that the film would be released in cinemas worldwide on 10 August. In July, the first song promo video was released, confirming the earlier release. Single from the film. Now, another exciting update has come to the fore.
According to media reports, the song release ceremony for Jailer will be held on July 29. The film is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, while the music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The much awaited album for Jailer by renowned music composer Vikram will be out at the end of the month. The release ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.
Initially, the dates for the release ceremony were considered for July 23 or 24, but superstar Rajinikanth personally decided on July 29. A few days ago, Sun Pictures released the promo video of the first song of the film on YouTube. In an interesting and humorous video, director Nelson barges into composer Anirudh’s studio and prays to Rajinikanth’s poster for a successful outcome. However, Anirudh requests to focus on the song instead of the promo video. Director Nelson exits the room announcing that the first single from the film, titled “Kaavla”, will release on 6 July and will feature Tamannaah Bhatia. The video also features Anuraja Kamaraj, who is working with Anirudh on the film’s music.
The teaser of Jailor, released by the makers in May, created a wave of excitement among netizens, who found it thrilling and captivating. Most of the scenes of the film have been shot in Kerala and Hyderabad. If reports are to be believed, the film is a comedy thriller, in which Rajinikanth is playing the role of a jailer. Most of the scenes were shot inside the prison setting.
Apart from Rajinikanth, the film also stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Jackie Shroff, Priyanka Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Yogi Babu, Jaffer Sadiq, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi and Vinayakan in pivotal roles. Superstar Mohanlal is also reported to have an extended cameo appearance. “Jailor” is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures, with music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Vijay Karthik Kannan.
