This untitled film will be another exciting addition to their collaborative portfolio.
A source close to the development shared, “Abhishek has completed the script of his next, which is an espionage thriller, set against the backdrop of the time when the Wuhan virus became a global issue. It is not a film on the pandemic, but a larger than life action drama that unfolds the story of the origin of the Covid virus that brought the entire world to a halt. Not much has been revealed about the film, but according to industry people, it is a massive pan-India film that intends to investigate the alleged Wuhan lab leak theory with a thrilling narrative. This will be one of the biggest films to be made and we hear that Mahavir Jain has come on board to produce the film. Mahavir and Abhishek have had a great collaboration since Ram Setu.”
Abhishek is recognized for his unique approach as a filmmaker, with a track record of directing timely films that are vastly different from each other. His first film Tere Bin Laden was successful. During an interaction with Etimes in 2020, the director had said, “Every film is important and special to me. I feel the same pressure for all films, whether my previous film was a flop or a hit.”
Mahavir, on the other hand, has made a name for itself by backing films with powerful stories including Unchai, Ram Setu, Good Luck Jerry and many more. The upcoming project will mark the second collaboration between Abhishek Sharma and Mahavir Jain, further details about which are yet to be revealed.
