Actor in conversation with a news portal Sunil Lahriwho played the role of Laxman Objected to Alia playing the role of a goddess in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana.
When asked about Ranbir and Alia being the frontrunners to play the lead, Lahiri said they were both ‘very good actors’ and he felt they would do justice to the role. He even said that RK was a good choice to play Lord Ram as he can perform well. Sharing his thoughts on Alia’s casting, he expressed his objection saying that though the actress is talented, he feels they would have done justice to her. the role if he had done it five years earlier. Emphasizing that this is only his personal opinion, he said that he feels Alia has ‘changed’ and was not sure about how believable she would be as Sita.
