Diljit Dosanjh has been fiercely private about his personal life. The actor, who hails from Punjab, has not let fans in on his personal life. Although he has not shed too much light on the reason behind the shield, his Amar Singh Chamkila co-star Anjum Batra revealed it has got to do with a protest that broke out in Punjab several years ago over a song he had made.
The actor, who played Tabla player Kesar Singh Tiki, said that while he is unaware about Diljit’s marital status, he can reveal why Diljit shields his personal life. “I don’t want to comment on this subject because I don’t know,” he told Bollywood Now, commenting on the rumours of his marriage. “But there is one thing about Diljit, he also shared it on the sets of Amar Singh Chamkila, many years ago, because of a song he released, there were protests outside his house. Since then, he has been over protective about his family. This is why he is lowkey about his personal life and keeps them away from the spotlight,” he added.
Recently, it was reported that Diljit is allegedly married and has a son as well. An unnamed friend has shed light on Diljit Dosanjh’s wife and child in a profile piece done by Indian Express for their section, Sunday Express Eye. The friend has claimed that the Punjabi singer’s wife is an Indian-American and they share a son. “An intensely private person, little is known about his family but friends say his wife is an American-Indian and they have a son, and his parents live in Ludhiana,” the profile piece mentioned. The report also claims that his wife and son live in the US.
Diljit has not yet commented on the subject. However, he did reveal earlier this month that he is not close to his parents. In a chat with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, the singer recalled that his parents sent him to live with his uncle (mama ji) to give him a better standard of living but did not ask if he was okay with the decision. This move led to his broken bond with his parents. He added that he still respects them.
On the work front, Diljit has had a memorable few months. He has released a few new songs, which gained instant popularity, and also starred in Crew as well as Amar Singh Chamkila. Both films have received much love.
