Realme teases a new smartphone coming in India with a periscope camera – Times of India

Realme has teased a new smartphone coming soon, which will have a periscope telephoto camera. While the teaser does not spill what model it could be, rumours are that the company is supposedly teasing its upcoming numbered series smartphone, the Realme 12 Pro+. Though, it could also be the Realme GT5 Pro, which launched in China earlier this year.
The Indian unit of Realme shared an image of a periscope camera on the phone on X, writing, “No Periscope. No Flagship.” Although the brand did not confirm the name of the smartphone, it is believed to be the Realme 12 Pro+. However, some sources suggest it could be the GT5 Pro instead.

Rumours are that the said smartphone will launch in India in the coming months, either by the end of January or early February.
This would be the first smartphone from Realme with a periscope telephoto lens to make it out of China. The last and first Relame smartphone to have a periscope camera that launched in India was the X3 SuperZoom, which launched in the market in 2020. Though Realme also launched the GT5 Pro this year, it remains China-exclusive, and there is no word if the smartphone will make it out of its home market anytime soon.
If the said smartphone is Realme 12 Pro+, it will succeed the Realme 12 Pro, which launched in India back in December 2022. It is also expected that the company could also bring the Realme 12 Pro to the Indian market alongside the Pro+ model.
As of now, there are no details known about the design and specifications of Realme’s upcoming smartphone. We expect to learn more in the coming weeks as the launch nears.
