Reliance Jio Bharat V2 internet-enabled phone launched at Rs 999, know features

New Delhi: Reliance Jio on Monday launched India’s most affordable 4G phone ‘Jio Bharat V2’ for just Rs 999, the lowest starting price for an internet-enabled phone in the country.

The new ‘Jio Bharat’ smartphone will provide internet access to existing 250 million feature phone (2G) users through the ‘Jio Bharat’ platform, which leverages device and network capabilities to deliver internet-enabled services on entry-level phones.

The beta trial for the first 1 million Jio Bharat phones in the country begins on July 7.

Akash Ambani said, “India still has 250 million mobile phone users who are ‘stuck’ in the 2G era, and unable to take advantage of internet infrastructure at a time when the world stands on the cusp of the 5G revolution. ” Chairman, Reliance Jio.

When Jio was launched six years ago, “We made it clear that Jio will leave no stone unturned to democratize the internet and bring the benefits of technology to every Indian. “Technology will no longer be the prerogative of a select few,” he said.

The device comes with 30 percent cheaper monthly plans and 7 times more data as compared to feature phones from other operators.

It comes with unlimited voice calls and 14 GB data for just Rs 123 per month, while other operators have plans for Rs 179 for voice calls and 2 GB data.

Even the basic voice services, which used to cost Rs 99 earlier, has now come down to Rs 199 for a period of 30 days.

Apart from Reliance Retail, other phone brands (starting with Karbonn) will adopt this platform to make ‘Jio Bharat Phones’.
