Air India management had received a complaint from the cabin crew about the presence of a female passenger in the cockpit of the plane.

Air India has removed two pilots from duty for inviting a woman to the cockpit. The incident took place last week in Delhi-Leh flight AI-445. Air India management had received a complaint from the cabin crew about unauthorized entry of female passengers into the cockpit of the plane. On this, the company has de-rostered the pilot and co-pilot for not following the rules.

On the incident, Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA) said, “We are aware of this incident. Necessary action is being taken in the matter. An official told the news agency that Air India has constituted a committee to probe the incident in detail.

However, there is no official response from Air India yet. The Leh route is one of the most difficult and sensitive air routes in the country in terms of security. It is against the law to allow unauthorized persons into the cockpit of a commercial aircraft.

Aviation expert Vipul Saxena, who is very sensitive to the flight of planes, said that landing a plane at Leh airport is one of the most difficult operations in the country because of the high hills here. It is also sensitive due to the presence of bases of the country’s defense forces. Also, the low oxygen level in the area requires a very good health record and due to this, only highly skilled pilots with good health records should be deployed to operate flights to Leh.

In February too, the pilot’s license was suspended for inviting a female friend to the cockpit.
In a similar incident, the DGCA had suspended the license of an Air India pilot last month. The pilot had given entry to his female friend in the cockpit of Air India flight AI-915 on the Dubai to Delhi route on February 27. The DGCA had also imposed a fine of Rs 30 lakh on the airline for not taking prompt and effective action in the event of cockpit violations.

Leh’s route is extremely sensitive in terms of flights
