Renovated building of BIS Southern Regional Office inaugurated

Pramod Kumar Tiwari, Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards, inaugurated the renovated building of BIS, Southern Regional Office (SR0) in Chennai on Thursday.

BIS-SRO was established in January 1969 at Satyamurthy Bhavan, GP Road. It was later shifted to its present premises at IV Cross Road, Taramani in July 1976. Industry and civil supplies.

The building was renovated after 46 years with various facilities and modern training and conference rooms.

Shri Tiwari awarded the license for Quality Management System, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management System certification to Kudankulam-Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (Unit I & II), (NPCIL) Tirunelveli.

T. Prem Kumar, Site Director and L. Richard, Training Superintendent and Management Representative, NPCIL received the license.

USP Yadav, Deputy Director General (Southern Region), BIS, were present.
