Bihar’s ruling party RJD tweeted showing the coffin and the new Vidhan Bhavan side-by-side and wrote, ‘What is this?’

Taking the attack on the newly built Parliament to a new low, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Sunday compared the architecture of the Parliament building to a coffin as PM Modi inaugurated the new building at a grand ceremony.

The RJD drew a sharp response from the BJP after it shared a tweet that compared the new Parliament building to a coffin. BJP said that people will bury the Bihar party in such a coffin in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The RJD, the ruling party in Bihar, put out a tweet showing a coffin and the new Vidhan Bhawan side by side and wrote “What is this?” BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia hit back saying, “The people of the country will bury you in the same casket in 2024 and will not give you an opportunity to enter the new temple of democracy. It is certain that the Parliament House belongs to the country and the casket is yours.”

Bhatia said that the inauguration is a historic moment and parties like RJD will continue to shout loudly.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said that Parliament is the temple of democracy and people will give a befitting reply to the way RJD is using abuses for the new building.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi also asked what was the need for the RJD to compare it with a coffin.

“RJD has no stand… why are they [RJD] Calling Parliament a coffin? He could have said something else, why did he need to bring this angle? Owaisi said.

Meanwhile, RJD leader Shakti Singh Yadav justified his party’s lewd tweet and said the coffin “represents democracy being buried.” ” They said.

PM Modi on Sunday inaugurated the new Parliament building amid a boycott by several opposition parties, which insisted that President Draupadi Murmu should be respected as the head of state.
