Traffic was disrupted as roads were flooded

Nagpur: After heavy overnight rain in the city, people woke up on Wednesday as roads in low-lying areas of Nagpur were flooded. The Ambazari lake also overflowed due to heavy rains. Even the gates of Gorewada Lake were opened, causing flooding in many areas along the Yellow River.
Traffic was disrupted as the roads were flooded.
Former corporator Manoj Sangole said that due to incessant rains since Tuesday night, at least 50 areas in North Nagpur have been submerged.
However, the fire brigade got only one call about water entering the houses, which was from Kalamana area.
On Wednesday, Ambazari lake started overflowing in the early morning when its water crossed the 31-metre overflow point. Similarly, Godbole Gate in Gorewada Lake opened on its own early in the morning after the water level reached 316.65 meters, causing the Yellow River to rise.
