Vadodara: An elderly man was murdered and his jewellery as well as a multi-utility vehicle (MUV) stolen in Jitpura village of Sanjeli taluka in Dahod district.
According to a complaint registered in this regard, the robbers entered the residence of Deepsinh Palas at around 2.30 am on Monday. Deepsinh woke up on hearing movement in the house. Deepsinh’s wife Rajmohini Palas said that her husband was attacked by the robbers with an axe when they saw him.The robbers also attacked Rajmohini and injured her. The couple was rushed to the Zydus Hospital in Dahod for treatment. Deepsinh was declared dead at the hospital. He had severe injuries on is throat.
Jewellery worth Rs 3.5 lakh and MUV estimated at Rs 1.25 lakh was stolen. The accused left the house of the deceased in the vehicle and left it near the village.
