Jailed gangster Tillu Tajpuriya, an accused Officials said on May 2 that he was killed in an early morning attack by rivals inside Tihar Jail in the Rohini Court shootout.

According to jail officials, the incident took place around 6.30 am. He was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

This morning information was received from DDU Hospital about two undertrials who were brought to the hospital from Tihar Jail. One of them, Sunil alias Tilu, was brought unconscious. He was later declared brought dead. Another person, Rohit, is undergoing treatment and is out of danger,” said Akshat Kaushal, Additional DCP West District, Delhi Police.

Police said an inmate named Yogesh Tunda, lodged in Jail No. 8, and other members of a rival gang attacked Tillu, lodged in Jail No. 9, with an iron grill.

“Yogesh alias Tunda and Deepak alias Teetar attacked Tillu Tajpuria by breaking the iron grill of the ward that had separated the two gangs into a single ward,” the officer said.

Jitendra Gogi was shot dead by two shooters during a shootout in Rohini court number 207 on September 24 last year.

Sources had told that a day before the Rohini shootout in September last year, (shooters) Umang and Jagdeep had taken weapons from a miscreant named Rakesh Tajpuria in Murthal.

Then on the same day, Umang and Jagdeep took a lawyer’s dress from a person near AIIMS. Meanwhile, Tillu was in constant touch with both of them through WhatsApp calls from jail.
