Rohit Roy On Amitabh Bachchan: ‘I Am An Actor Because Of Him’ – News18

Rohit Roy is one of the most successful actors in the television industry. The actor is all set to make a comeback on television with the popular show Saubhagyavati Bhava 2. Rohit will be portraying the character of DCP Avinash. In the show, he will be assigned the challenging task of investigating the intriguing murder case of Raghav (played by Dheeraj Dhoopar). While speaking to a leading media outlet, the actor opened up about the profound impact Amitabh Bachchan has had on his acting journey.

In an interview with Etimes, Rohit Roy said, “I am a huge Amitabh Bachchan fan. His screen presence and real-life aura fascinate me to the point of madness. I love the way he presents himself on screen and today, I am an actor because of him. His impression on me made me aspire to become an actor like him.”

The accomplished actor went on to reveal his dream role, expressing that there isn’t a particular role in mind. In his childhood, he aspired to play Amitabh Ji’s character from Zanjeer. Later on, his desire shifted to Satte pe Satta. “My fascination with him runs deep; in fact, I find myself a bit envious that my friend Abhishek Bachchan shares the same air as Amitabh Bachchan,” he added.

Speaking on his role as DCP Avinash, Rohit shed light on what drew him to the character. He shares, “While I have essayed the role of a cop before, the uniqueness of DCP Avinash lies in his quirkiness, wit, intelligence, and the occasional willingness to operate outside conventional norms. Being part of Saubhagyavati Bhava, an already popular show, coupled with the prospect of embodying such a dynamic character, proved irresistible, prompting my return to television.”

Rohit Roy shared the new promo of the show on his Instagram handle. He can be seen stating that Raghav Jindal is dead and advising his team to keep an eye on his house. In the caption, he wrote, “Woh ayega! DCP Avinash !!!”

Saubhagyavati Bhava 2: Niyam aur Sharte Laagu’s narrative centers around Siya (Played by Amandeep Sidhu), a middle-class girl, whose life undergoes a tumultuous transformation upon encountering Raghav, an abuser. In its first season, the series starred Sriti Jha and Karanvir Bohra in lead roles. Sriti played the role of Jahnvi, a young woman trapped in the web of domestic abuse within her ostensibly perfect marriage to Viraj (played by Karanvir). In the latest season, Karanvir Bohra plays the role of an antagonist.
