Rotary Club to Launch ‘Belagavi Krishi Utsav’ to Help Farmers | Hubballi News – Times of India

Belagavi: Manjunath Alwani, president of the Rotary Club of Belagavi Central said that to provide an opportunity to showcase latest developments in the field of agriculture and allied sectors, the Rotary Club of Belagavi Central in association with government departments has come up with a unique project of organising ‘Belagavi Krishi Utsav’ in the city and to be scheduled from March 7 to 11 at CPED Ground Club Road, Belagavi.
This event is being supported by the state govt, departments of agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry in state.
Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, Manjunath said that the event is a unique agricultural exhibition. The initiative of the Rotary Club of Belagavi Central shall also enable traders, entrepreneurs and startups to demonstrate their products and upscale their businesses, apart from farmers adopting new technologies.
Belagavi is at border district of Maharashtra and Goa. This event will provide farmers with a golden opportunity to get updated about the latest technologies and products in the agriculture field.
The surplus generated out of this project will be utilized for needy communities. The funds generated will be utilized for physically challenged and economically weaker sections of society through various projects such as sanitation facilities, toilet blocks, providing safe drinking water to schools and community, corrective surgeries, health centers, building a strong and knowledgeable community of youths through career guidance and many more.
Shivanagouda S Patil, joint director of the agriculture department said that this exhibition is being held with the idea of providing a knowledge platform for farmers and the public at large.
“It will provide an opportunity to showcase new inventions in the field of agriculture and allied fields. It will help in enhancing yield using innovative technologies and will showcase technological developments in agriculture and allied fields. Lectures by field experts and interactions on modern agriculture and farming will help budding farmers,” Patil added.
Abhay Joshi, secretary of Rotary Club of Belagavi Central and event chairman Shakeel Shaikh Ali said that about 150 stalls will be opened during the Krishi Utsav. More than 10 govt department stalls will provide all the necessary information to the farmers.
