Round-the-clock Care For Holi, Hosps On Alert | Gurgaon News – Times of India

GURGAON: The health department has made arrangements at all city hospitals to handle emergency cases during Holi. Colours may hurt skin, eye and lungs and such cases see a spike during the festivities, according to doctors.
Ophthalmologists have been posted in the emergency wards of several hospitals to attend patients who complain of eye irritation during the festival.Experts pointed out that people with poor lung conditions are vulnerable and prone to develop respiratory problems if exposed to synthetic colours that contain toxic chemicals.
The health department has directed Sector 10 civil hospital and sub-divisional hospitals to deploy doctors round-the-clock. “ Three ambulances will be on standby to attend emergency cases on Holi. All hospitals have been told to stay on alert,” said Dr Virender Yadav, CMO.
