RPF fined for unauthorized chain pulling. Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: Police has arrested 648 people while taking action against unauthorized chain pulling in passenger trains running under Prayagraj division. railway protection force (RPF) Jan 2023 to 25 May 2023.
“Indian Railways has installed emergency alarm chains in all coaches of passenger trains for the convenience, safety and use of its passengers in case of emergency. But many times chain pulling is done unnecessarily by commuters causing inconvenience to other commuters, our campaign is against these commuters”, said Public Relation Officer (PRO), Prayagraj Division. A total fine of Rs 9,145 was collected from 82 persons at Prayagraj Junction, Rs 8,795 from 58 persons at Kanpur Railway Station, Rs 6,820 from 79 persons at Etawah Railway Station and 105 persons at Aligarh Railway Station. 27,975 amounting to Rs. Along with this, by running awareness campaign from time to time in the schools and villages around the station, the RPF is advised not to pull the alarm chain without proper reason.
legal Action is being taken against unauthorized chain pulling by registering a case under Section 141 of the Railway Act. The said Act provides for a fine of Rs 1,000 or imprisonment for one year, or both”, explained the PRO.
