Rythu Bandhu scheme extended to podu farmers

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao extended the Rythu Bandhu scheme to all podu farmers from this season. This announcement was made on Sunday while inaugurating the newly constructed integrated collectorate at Nirmal district headquarters.

He directed District Collector Varun Reddy to take steps in this direction including opening of bank accounts.

Expressing confidence that the BRS would be voted back to power after the next elections, the Chief Minister said there were big plans for the further development of Telangana.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Rao also inaugurated the party office.

“With regard to human index development, two issues will be considered – per capita electricity consumption and per capita income. In both these cases, we are number one in the country ahead of states like Maharashtra, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. We have achieved this through the combined efforts of each and every individual.

“The efforts we have made so far are showing results. The erstwhile Adilabad district was divided into four parts and all these districts, including the farthest Asifabad, are soon going to have medical colleges. If we had stayed with Andhra Pradesh, we would not have seen this even after 50 years.

He said that there is still a long way to go on the path of development and stressed the need to eradicate poverty and bring Dalits and Girijans at par with others.

Endowments Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy, Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashant Reddy, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari and Collector Varun Reddy were present.
