Eid celebrations have turned Bollywood’s most beloved superstar residences in Mumbai into fan magnets, especially the homes of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in Bandra. Throughout Eid’s Thursday, sizable crowds were spotted outside these celebrities’ homes, eagerly awaiting a chance to see their idols, despite the congestion and turmoil this caused in the area.

Despite the tradition, neither Shah Rukh nor Salman made their anticipated balcony appearances to greet fans for Eid, leading to growing impatience among the masses. The situation escalated outside Salman’s Galaxy Apartments, where police were compelled to use batons to manage the crowd after disturbances intensified. Disturbing footage emerged from Bandra depicting a scene where officers resorted to physical measures to disperse the crowd, resulting in a few fans, including a woman, falling amidst the chaos but subsequently assisted by nearby people. The intervention helped to clear the congestion, allowing traffic to resume.

It’s a long-standing tradition for Salman and Shah Rukh to greet their fans from their balconies on Eid and their birthdays. This Eid, Salman took the opportunity to announce his next film, ‘Sikandar,’ further exciting his fans. In a message, Salman said, “Iss Eid Bade Miyan Chote Miyan aur Maidaan ko dekho aur agli Eid Sikandar se aa kar Milo (Watch Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan this Eid, and meet Sikandar next Eid). Wish u all Eid Mubarak!”

The movie ‘Sikandar,’ set to release on Eid 2025, is under the direction of Murugadoss, known for his Hindi debut ‘Ghajini,’ which was a blockbuster hit, and ‘Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty’ starring Akshay Kumar. The film boasts the backing of producer Sajid Nadiadwala.

Over the years, Salman Khan has established a tradition of releasing films on Eid, starting with ‘Judwaa’ in 1997 and including hits like ‘Dabangg,’ ‘Bodyguard,’ ‘Ek Tha Tiger,’ ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan,’ ‘Sultan,’ ‘Bharat,’ and ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.’ Eid has become tantamount with a Salman Khan movie release, although this year marked a deviation from his usual film release pattern, opting instead to excite fans with a new movie announcement.

Salman’s most recent appearance was in ‘Tiger 3,’ a thriller that saw significant box office success. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the film featured Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi in pivotal roles.
