Identified as Vicky Sahab Gupta, 24, and Sagar Shrijogendra Pal, 21, from Masihi in the West Champaran district of Bihar, the two men were allegedly involved in the firing outside the Bandra residence of the Bollywood superstar.Following the news break, two photos of the alleged accused went viral on social media.
The photo doing the rounds on fan handles sees the two men handcuffed together with policemen standing on either side.
The photos were posted online soon after the Mumbai Police authorities confirmed that the duo was apprehended late Monday night in Bhuj, Gujarat. “The two suspects, who absconded from Mumbai following the shooting, were apprehended in Bhuj, Gujarat,” officials stated.
They further informed that the arrested individuals would be transported to Mumbai for further interrogation and legal proceedings. According to reports, the two men will be produced before the court on Tuesday morning.
The shooting incident, which unfolded in the early hours of Sunday, saw two assailants firing shots outside Galaxy Apartments, before fleeing the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest that the perpetrators arrived at the location on a motorcycle, concealing their identities with helmets, indicating a meticulously planned assault.
During the attack, they discharged a total of four rounds, leaving behind a live cartridge as evidence.
Earlier, the Mumbai Crime Branch had summoned two individuals for questioning in connection with the shooting incident.
In response to the alarming incident, the Mumbai Police Commissioner proposed heightened security measures for the actor. While Khan’s security had been elevated to Y-Plus since November 2022, owing to threats from notorious gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, the police deployed additional guards to protect the actor.
In light of these threats, Khan has been authorized to carry a personal firearm and has acquired an armoured vehicle for enhanced protection.
