Mohammad Salim (formerly Saurabh Jain), originally a resident of Bhopal, was arrested by the ATS on charges of sedition. Mansi Agarwal’s wife Rayla after converting to Islam is currently under the supervision of ATS in Hyderabad. Dainik Bhaskar did a special interview with Rayla. Rayla clearly said that she is in a lot of trouble at the moment, but she has full faith in Allah. He also said that he has no regrets for converting to Islam. Hizb-ut-Tahrir’s radical Salim converted to Islam after a few years, then his wife Mansi also became a Muslim. Salim is under the custody of ATS (Anti Terrorist Squad) since 6 days. After her husband’s arrest, Rayla along with her two sons Yusuf and Ismail is under ATS surveillance at their Hyderabad home. Rayla’s phone and laptop have also been seized by the ATS. He talked to Dainik Bhaskar on the phone of a neighbor. Rayla said that there is nothing other than accepting Islam. The officers of the investigating agency are questioning Salim. The agency argues that Salim was associated with other radicals in Bhopal. These people were working to establish the power of Islam in the country.

Bhaskar- Salim is accused of doing anti-national work?

train: No Salim, speak Doctor Salim, he is a PhD. My husband used to work in a college. Come and see in his college. The day before there was a fight with the principal. He said that the practical of 100 children was taken in one day? Does the university allow this? He said if you want to do a job then it will be like this. It was the day of fasting. Came home at 6 in the evening. After coming home in the evening, he used to sleep for two hours. Then he used to teach science to the children. When did he have time for other things.

The investigating agency is saying that it has evidence of his involvement in anti-national activities?

train: If my husband was like this, he would never have told me? Doesn’t his antics make me suspicious of him? I don’t know what is going on. The life of a normal citizen is like that, our life was going on like that. There was only one thing that we have accepted Islam, apart from this there is no such thing. That’s why they (ATS) are troubling us.

Bhaskar- The way Dr. Salim was arrested, do you think you took a wrong decision by accepting Islam?

train: Not at all, it doesn’t look good. This was not a wrong decision. I will not blame my Lord for anyone’s wrongdoings. These are someone else’s misdeeds, those who did it are wrong. How can my Lord be wrong, He will bring them out. See Insha Allah, every power of the world will be overturned. I will fight for my husband till my last breath. Insha Allah my Lord will bring them back.

Bhaskar- ATS came home and arrested your husband, what would you say about the agency’s method?

train: Took it from home in such a nice way. My husband said that it should not appear that you are arresting me and taking me away. Two people were in front, two people were behind. I am told that your husband will come back in two hours. Took away our laptop. Took mobile phone. Wasted my whole life and went away. From where can I get the children’s classes done? His online classes used to run.

Bhaskar- How will you deal with the allegations leveled against you and this whole case going forward?

train: I am not afraid of the false allegations of these people. Ruining someone’s life unnecessarily. He ruined my husband’s entire career. After that those people say that we are sitting on big positions. If you have power, will you ruin the life of any common man? What will they answer in front of Allah? Will they be cursed? They also have children, they also have to answer. They will be cursed by my children. I have absolutely no fear of his false and baseless allegations. There is trust in Allah that he will stand by them in this difficult time.

They don’t trust those who convert

While talking on this phone, Rayla’s mother-in-law told us that both my son and daughter-in-law used to say that these people do not trust those who convert and become Muslims. Let’s keep an eye on them. Talking about Islam, they say that he is a new Muslim, that is why he is doing Azaan loudly.

Dainik Bhaskar also spoke to the family members of the other arrested accused.

Tehreek-e-Khilafat on the radar of investigative agencies after SIMI, JMB and PFI

Now the biggest question for the government is that despite the ban on SIMI (Student Islamic Movement of India) and PFI (Popular Front of India), why are such fundamentalist organizations expanding in Madhya Pradesh itself?

On the question of action being taken against such radical organizations before the assembly elections to be held in Madhya Pradesh, an officer says that it has nothing to do with the elections. When action was taken on PFI then there were no elections. Anyway, this action has not happened in one or two days. All these people were on our surveillance. Love Jihad can be a subject of politics, it is not a subject in our investigation.

It is noteworthy that earlier in Madhya Pradesh, anti-terrorist squad has also taken action against organizations like Jamaat-e-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) and PFI. In 2006, Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) has also been banned here.
