Scoop Twitter Reactions: Directed by award-winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta, the new Hindi web series Scoop has impressed the audience on the day itself. The web show released on Netflix on June 2 and is based on the biographical novel ‘Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison’ written by former journalist Jigna Vora, who was one of the prime accused in the Dey murder case. It stars Karishma Tanna, Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Harman Baweja, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Deven Bhojani in lead roles.
Scoop begins streaming on Netflix ahead of the 12th anniversary of the murder of Mumbai crime journalist Jyotirmoy Dey and promises to rekindle memories of his bloody end by the ubiquitous mafia. Those who have seen the series are extremely impressed with the performance of Karishma Tanna along with Hansal Mehta’s direction. Twitterati have called the web series ‘phenomenal’ and a ‘must-watch’.
Talking about the scoop, a Twitter user said, “Acting, story telling… everything is top notch! All the lead actors – Karishma, Zeeshan, Harman… were brilliant anyway but I especially Se loved the actor playing Jagtap, who was a natural actor.” Another tweeted, “Excellent and captivating series!! Jigna Vora, on whose book the series is based, was one of the prime accused in the Jyotirmoy Dey murder case. But after seven years of ordeal, he was finally acquitted in 2018 and acquitted by the Bombay High Court in 2019.
