google pixel 7a Was launched During the company’s I/O event last week. The Pixel 6a successor is powered by Google’s in-house Tensor G2 SoC and packs a 64-megapixel dual camera unit at the back. It has an updated design with an IP67 rating. Now, YouTuber Zack Nelson of JerryRigEverything has put the Pixel 7a through its durability test to see if it will fare like the Pixel 6a. The new handset appears to have survived Nelson’s various customary scratch, burn and bend tests. However, the device did not burn, break, bend or lose its shape during testing and was found to be solid compared to the costlier Pixel 7 Pro.
Jack Nelson in his latest episode JerryRigEverything put the latest Pixel 7a through durability tests. The phone has first been subjected to a scratch test on its OLED panel. Like most other phones, the screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 started showing scratches at level 6 of the Mohs hardness scale. It gets deep grooves on level 7.
Like pixel 6a, the sides of the Google Pixel 7a are made of metal. Nelson’s razor blade was used against the volume and power buttons and camera unit. The rear camera module also has a distinct metal coating. opposite of this google pixel 7 pro Glass panel, Pixel 7a has a plastic rear panel. The fingerprint scanner of the device did not work properly after the scratch.
Pixel 7a features a 6.1-inch full-HD+ OLED display. The 90Hz refresh rate display stays steady under a lighter flame for 25 seconds before the pixels turn white. However, the OLED panel turns out to be perfectly fine.
In the final round, the Pixel 7a was subjected to a bend test. The device stood up admirably to the pressure and barely showed any sign of bending. “There’s almost no flex when bent from the back and almost no flex when bent from the front,” says Nelson. They claim that the Pixel 7a rivals the premium Pixel 7 Pro in the bend test and the durability of the new handset is much better than the Asus ROG Ultimate 7.
Google Pixel 7a is priced at Rs. 43,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model in India. It has been introduced in Chalk, Snow and Sea color options.
