Sensex, Nifty gain over 1%: Top stocks of the day – Times of India

New Delhi: Equity indices jumped on Monday along with benchmarks BSE Sensex Gains in banking, IT and metal stocks led by gains of over 750 points.
The 30-share BSE index closed 760 points or 1.41% higher at 54,521. Whereas, broad NSE Nifty It closed 229 points or 1.43% higher at 16,278.
Sub-indexes of Nifty IT, PSU Bank, Metal and Private Bank rose up to 3.17% on the NSE platform.
Today’s Top Gainers
IndusInd Bank was the top gainer of the day in the BSE Sensex pack, rising up to 4.34%. It was followed by Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Baja Finserve and Axis Bank.
On the other hand, Dr Reddy’s, HDFC Bank, M&M, Nestle India and Maruti were the top losers, falling up to 1.71%.

Keeping in mind the market trend, the BSE Midcap index rose 1.38 per cent on the day, while the BSE Smallcap index rose 1.39 per cent.
The S&P BSE 500 also closed 1.39% higher at 22,278.
Vardhman Textiles Limited (VTL) was the biggest gainer in the BSE 500 index. The stock closed at Rs 305.20, up 14.29% during the day.

Other major gainers in the index were Star Health Insurance, Varoc Engineering, NBCC, Tanla and Shriram Transport Finance.
On the other hand, Laurus Labs, Zydus Life, FDC and Bajaj Electric were the top losers, falling up to 3.35%.

Adani Transmission is performing well since last 1 week. The stock gave a stupendous return of 40% to its investors and is now priced at Rs 2,973.
Telecom PSU ITI has also done well in last 1 week and share is up 38.5% now.
Asahi India Glass, Tube Investment of India and Ceat were other top gainers in the last 1 week.
