In a tweet, the DC Police Union also confirmed that a police officer was shot during the DC shooting. “We can confirm that one of our members working in the area of 14th and U St NW has been shot. The member has been taken to hospital and is in stable condition.”

According to a local media outlet, the shooting took place at or near the site of a Juneteen music festival called “Moechella” at 14th and U Street. Local US media said on Monday that there were unconfirmed reports of more victims being found with an MPD officer being shot in the leg, with police asking everyone to avoid the area.
