Shah Rukh Khan charmed guests at the World Government Summit 2024 with his trademark wit, teasing about his potential role as the villain in a James Bond movie.
During a session titled ‘The Making Of A Star: A Conversation With Shah Rukh Khan,’ the actor humorously downplayed his legendary status and jokingly introduced himself as ‘James Bond’ when asked for his name.In response to inquiries about playing the role of Bond, Khan playfully remarked that he had considered it but felt he might be too short for the part, adding that he believed he could sufficiently embody the character of a Bond villain due to his ethnicity.

The actor discussed his extensive 33-year-long acting career and his rise to stardom. When asked about his absence from Hollywood, he mentioned having connections in American and English film industries but admitted to not receiving appealing offers. He revealed turning down a role in ‘Slumdog Millionaire‘ because he found the character of the game show host too negative.

Anil Kapoor ultimately portrayed the role that Shah Rukh Khan declined in the 2008 film, directed by Danny Boyle. The movie went on to achieve significant acclaim, winning eight out of the ten awards at the 2009 Oscars.

Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film, ‘Dunki,’ was released in December 2023. Prior to that, he starred in consecutive action-packed films – ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawaan,’ both of which emerged as major box office successes in 2023.
