Former India spin legend Bishen Singh Bedi passes away
Because of his prolonged illness the former cricketer had been keeping a low profile but he was spotted in his first and unfortunately his last film Ghoomer. He even got the opportunity to share screen space with his actor son Angad Bedi. Ghoomer, directed by R Balki is a sports drama on life of a female cricket player.

In August, Angad expressed his delight about working with his father during his conversation with ANI, stating that it was a dream come true. He considered it an honor to be part of the same film and credit list with his legendary cricketer father, emphasizing Bedi’s exceptional human qualities. Angad further shared that collaborating with Saiyami and Abhishek had been a fantastic experience, and he eagerly anticipated the audience witnessing the magic they had created together.
Bedi made his Test debut in December 1967 and was India’s captain in 22 Test matches.Credited with transforming the craft of spin bowling, he forged a formidable alliance with Erapalli Prasanna, BS Chandrasekhar, and S. Venkataraghavan. Renowned for his adept use of flight and spin, Bedi regularly outwitted batsmen with his ingenious variations.In 1990, Bedi served as the Indian cricket team’s manager during their tours of New Zealand and England.
