The actor, who attended the trailer launch event along with Zafar and Himanshu Kishan Mehra, claimed that he has hiked his fees after the success of Kabir Singh and is charging Rs 40 crore for Bloody Daddy.

He looked quite surprised and jokingly asked Munshi to give him this amount and he would do his film. Director Ali Abbas Zafar also scoffed and added, “You said less.” The actor was then asked whether the makers of Bloody Daddy were able to break even the film’s budget through streaming rights, when he said, “No sir, humne sabko bhadke mein jio ko free de diya picture.” Adding to Shahid’s reply, the makers said that the streaming platform paid them whatever they required. “He is giving as much OTT as is needed.”

Following this, Shahid replied, “Acha dekho, yahah pe jo teen log baithe hai, kya hum dukhi lagre hai? Are we looking unhappy, please tell us? Mathematics pe matt ghuso.”

Bloody Daddy is the first collaboration between Ali Abbas Zafar and Shahid Kapoor. Sharing his experience of working with Zafar, the actor said, “It was great fun. I had a great time doing an action film, I really enjoyed working with Ali. Well understand. Now the dilemma is if you are doing something on this scale, on OTT, what do you do on the big screen? So we have to find out, it’s been a blast.”

The actor also revealed that his experience of dancing helped him understand action choreography really fast. She added, “There’s a lot of choreography involved with dance, and because I started dancing when I was 15, I can remember things really fast, so that helped us. When we did the film, Unfortunately, because of Covid we got a lot of issues. The action directors weren’t from here, some of them from London, some from Hollywood, and they’re used to a lot of rehearsals. And they came in and they thought It’s going to be a disaster. But because I’ve danced a lot I can learn it very fast.”

‘Bloody Daddy’ will stream on Jio Cinema from June 9.
